Beau Monde has celebrated 40 years in the heart of Central London dressing some of the most interesting women in the land.
Sylvia and her team have dressed women for every major occasion in England’s calendar, it has been such a privilege.
Always travelling their own path, a gesture towards trends, but essentially creating a classic shape using the very best fabrics.
Clothes have empowered, not dominated, enhanced, not restricted, made customers smile, not others laugh.
The Beau Monde team have enjoyed themselves.
About Sylvia Young
Sylvia Young started Beau Monde in 1986 after a fruitless Saturday shopping trip. On Sunday she woke up knowing she should open a shop.
Initially selling young designers, Sylvia incorporated her own designs with such success that after 2 years most items were the in house label, Beau Monde.
Self taught by a lifetime spent around fashion, wearing, styling and selling it. Naturally Sylvia’s next move was to design and make it.
My designs have been for women who want clothes to work for them. They’ve needed to be able to forget what they are wearing and function. My customers have been busy.
Quality has always been key, the best fabric that the world has had to offer made up by a skilled team based in London.
